‘Batman vs. Superman’ Batmobile production update

‘Batman vs. Superman’ Batmobile production update

BY CHRIS BEGLEY ON  |  @BATMANNEWSCOM

Back in October we learned the first details about the new Batman vs. SupermanBatmobile. It’s rumored to be modeled after a Cadillac, perhaps even an old 1943 convertible. Batman on Film’s source “Dr. Detroit” is back with another update about Batman’s new ride:

I was informed that the Batmobile is actually being designed and built in Warren, Michigan at GM’s famed ‘Studio X’ – the auto industry’s equivalent of FortKnox. Or the first rule of FIGHT CLUB…

The Batmobile will then be finished at the GM Advanced Design Studio in North Hollywood by February. I believe this is where the car will be tested and stunt drivers trained before the car is transported back to Detroit for filming.

We know that Batman vs. Superman director Zack Snyder is a big fan of Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns”, so maybe we’ll see Batman in his classic tank too.

What kind of Batmobile or Bat-vehicle do you hope to see Batman use in Batman vs. Superman? Let me know in the comments below!

all I want is a Batmobile modelled after this

They call that a GT40. The 40 comes from the fact that its only 40 inches tall. That much too low for a big guy like Bruce Wayne/Ben Affleck, especially when they got their ears on the top of their head.

He say modeled after,,,,,,,,doesn’t mean it has to be the exact same measurements

True enough. The original GT40 was made for racing but recently Ford remade the car for sale to consumers as a limited edition supercar. The re-made model was a little higher at 43.5 inches, still way to low for bat ears. And of course its a Ford and reports are that GM got the brief to build the car. I tell you its going to be a hybrid based on the Caddy ELR. It will have a “V” shaped windshield based on the Aerovette from the 70’s.

The new batmobile should be a hybrid, perhaps based on the Caddillac ELR. I want it to be be a real car, not something cartoony. It should have the dimensions of a supercar, with a micro turbine up front as a range extender (running the generator), and a jet/afterburner in the back because, well, its a batmobile! They are bring in Ron Patrick as a technical adviser. http://www.ronpatrickstuff.com.

The hood and windshield will be from the Aerovette from the 70’s.

I never really understood why the batmobile had to be so long. It’s not practical for quick turns or even for races, as it would be way too heavy. I’d like a batmobile based on a lotus car or something like that.

I agree. It should have the dimensions of a supercar. It should be no more than 190 inches in length, Most supercars are under 180. The Batmobile from Batman & Robin was over 30 feet long, and only a one seater. That thing was the most ridicules thing ever. Fit the movie perfectly.

Found some re-skinned Vett kits that would made a good base for a new batmobile. These examples are on a C6 chassis. GM product. Add some fins, bat symbol here and there, black paint, done.

I always thought the Batmobile should be something that blends in, something likwe the tumbler would be too easy to target and follow.
